Girls Win Second Meet in a Row!

PV Girls Golf wins second meet in a row. Led by freshman Erika Holmberg with 43 and Lizzie McVey with 50, the Spartans defeated the Muscatine Muskies 204-227 at the Geneva Golf and Country Club. Other scores: Roshni Patel 54 Cecilia Patramanis 57 Erin Douglas 58 Ingrid Hofmann with a 59. The girls next meet is Thursday April 11 at Glynns Creek Golf Course for the North Scott Invitational.

Girls Win Opening Triangular Meet!!!!!

Spartan Girls win opening meet! PV 192 North Scott 236. Clinton 258. Erika Holmberg led the Spartans with a fine round of 41. She was followed by sophomore Ingrid Hofmann with 49, Cecilia Patramanis 51, Lizzie McVey 51, Roshni Patel 57 and Erin Douglas 58! The Spartans team score of low four of six balls was 192. North Scott followed with 236 and Clinton with 258 over the back nine layout at Hidden Hills. The girls will travel to Muscatine on April 9 to take on the Muskies at Geneva Country Club.

Spartan Girls Golf Season in Full Swing

The 2019 girls golf season has been in action since March 18th. 14 young ladies have been working hard to prepare for 12 scheduled varsity competitions and 6 junior varsity events.The weather has cooperated so far with team members being at Hidden Hills 11 of the 13 scheduled practices. On poor weather days, the girls are able to practice in our indoor golf room at the high school. Eight players return from last season and are joined by six freshman. PV Golf Team Members attend Rules of Golf Seminar - Saturday March 23rd

Eleven Pleasant Valley Golf Team Members spent the morning at Davenport C.C. learning about the changes to the Rules of Golf. The Iowa Golf Association held a certified seminar that went over the many changes to the rules this year. Knowing the rules is always to your favor and these young men and women are more prepared because of attending the seminar. We would like to thank Bill Eby of Davenport C.C. and Chad Pitts of the Iowa Golf Association for their fine work. We also thank John Panek, PGA for hosting the event along with the membership of Davenport C.C. It was a very enjoyable learning experience for all.

Spartans finish 4th at the Weibring Invitational to end regular season.

The PV Spartans made the long trek to Normal, IL to compete in the annual Normal U Invitational at Illinois State University. A great field of 16 teams competed on a blustery and cold day with winds reaching 30 mph. Jack Roemer finished third overall with a fantastic 75. Senior Lucas Wendel followed with a solid 79. Jack Dumas fired 81 and Joe Logan finished with 88 to give the team a 323 total that was good for 4th place. Nathan Tillman and Lucas Wood rounded out the scoring with 92 and 93. The boys move on to district play on Monday at Hunters Ridge Golf in Marion, IA. The Spartans finished regular season play with an overall record of 87-5 and captured seven championships during the season.

Pleasant Valley Keeps the Muskie Cup

The boys golf team continue their winning ways by capturing the Muskie Cup on Wendnesday at Geneva C.C. The boy won the 12-man, 6*team event by a score of 76 to 32. The event is a team competition between PV and Muscatine where 6 two person team compete in a Best Ball of 2 event where each hole is worth one point. The fun day was followed by a team gathering at Pizza Ranch where the JV boys rounded out their season. Seniors Cory Labarge and Rian Lamarque finished their PV golf career on a winning note. Two-man teams were Jack Roemer and Harrison Cockrell, Jack Dumas and John Molyneaux, Nathan Tillaman and Mitchell Wood, Lucas Wood and Alex Blackwell, Joe Logan and Rian Lamarque along with Lucas Wendel and Cory Labarge.

Spartans capture 2nd Consecutive MAC Championship

The Pleasant Valley Boys Golf Team captured their second consecutive MAC Golf Championship at Kewaunee Dunes Golf Club. The 36 hole event went right down to the wire as Bettendorf and PV battled it out for the team title. Jack Dumas led the Spartans with a fine two day total of 150 . Jack finished second overall in the individual competition. Senior Lucas Wendel played superbly with rounds of 75 and 77. The 152 finish earned him 3rd place overall in the competition. The Spartans were aided by all conference senior Joe Logan who tallied 162. Nathan Tillman fired a second round 80 that rounded out the scoring on day two and totaled 167 overall. Jack Roemer and Lucas Wood finished with 169 and 170 over the demanding layout. The Spartans have two meets in the coming week. They visit Geneva CC for the Muskie Cup and on Friday they travel to Normal, IL for the U-HIgh Invite that will have some of the best teams competing from the State of Illinois.

Pleasant Valley wins Assumption Invitational!

Led by sophomore Jack Roemer's 74, the Spartans captured their sixth invitational with a team score of 309 on the long and wet Emeis Golf Course.. Senior Joe Logan fired his best round of the year with a 77. Jack Dumas continued his stellar play with 78 and senior Lucas Wendel added 80. Lucas Wood and Nathan Tillman rounded out the scoring with 87 and 90 respectively. The boys were called off the course with a few holes to play due to lightning, but were able to go and complete their rounds before another round of storms moved into the QC area. The MAC conference meet is next on the docket this Friday and Saturday over the challenging Kewaunee Dunes Golf Club in Kewaunee, IL. The Spartans hope to defend their conference title.

Spartans come up short at TPC Deere Run with strong showing.

The Pleasant Valley boys win streak was stopped at five but not without a fight. The Spartans finished second in the eighteen team field over the tough TPC Deere Run Golf Course. The Spartans were lead by sophomores Jack Dumas and Jack Roemer with 73 and 78 respectively. Lucas Wood, Lucas Wendel and Joe Logan all fired 82 after slow starts but strong finishes. Nathan Tillman rounded out scoring with an 85. The meet was the strongest field of the year and the team now knows they can compete with anyone in the state. Next on the schedule will be the Assumption Invite on Wednesday September 19th after being rained out in August.

River King Invite Win makes it Five Straight for Spartans

Jack Dumas fired a one over par 73 in tough conditions to lead the Spartans to their fifth straight invitational victory. Valley Oaks played long and with rough bordering 5 inches due to the extremely raining fall. Jack Roemer followed Dumas with a 77 and Lucas Wood scored a fine round of 79. Lucas Wendel rounded out the scoring with an 82 but showed signs of breaking out by playing the last 10 holes one over par. Joe Logan and Nathan Tillman finished with 84 and 87 respectively. It had been over two weeks since the team had competed and they won't have to wait long as the boys return to the links this Wednesday at TPC Deere Run for the Cedar Rapids Washington Warrior Invite.

Boys Win Bobcat Invite at Thunder Hills Country Club

Led by sophomore Jack Dumas with a medalist round of 73 and freshman Nathan Tillman posting a 76 over the windy and challenging Thunder Hills layout. After a 45 minute rain delay the Spartans toured the course with a team score of 310 and a 25 shot victory over runner up Bettendorf. Lucas Wood continued his steady play with 80 and Joe Logan posted 81 to round out the qualifying scores. The Spartans will be back on course this Wednesday at the Assumption Invitational at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport. The team currently stands at 40 - 1 for the season, but many challenging events remain on the schedule.

Jack Roemer took home medalist honors with a one over 73 and Jack Dumas was closed behind with 74 to lead the PV golfers to their 3rd Invite championship in as many tries. The sophomore duo were part of a 310 team score that was aided by an 81 from senior Lucas Wendel and 82 by junior Lucas Wood. Joe Logan and Nathan Tillman rounded out the scores with an 83 and 85 respectively. The Spartans will next play on Monday August 27th at Thunder Hills CC in Peosta, IA at the Western Dubuque Invite.

Spartans Make it 2 Tourney Wins in a Row!

Led by Jack Roemer with a medalist round of 73 and runner-up Jack Dumas' 74 the Spartans sailed to an invitational victory in the 11 team Iowa City West Invitational at Blue Top Ridge on Monday August 13. The duo was aided by rounds of 82 by freshman Nathan Tillman and senior Joe Logan. Lucas Wood followed with an 85 and senior Lucas Wendel posted 87. The team total of 311 over the tough 6450 yard layout was victorious by 5 shots over runner-up Johnston. The Spartans will return to action on Monday August 20th at Glynns Creek for the Lancer Invitational. The PV Spartan JV team will also participate in the Lancer Invite.

Spartans Win Muskie Invitational at Geneva C.C.

Jack Dumas won individual honors at the Muskie Invite with a beautiful round of 1 under par on the tough Geneva CC course on Friday August 10th.. He was followed by sophomore Jack Roemer at 75, freshman Nathan Tillman at 76 and junior Lucas Wood posting a fine round of 79 for a team total of 301. The Spartans beat 11 other participating teams in the meet. Senior Joe Logan followed with an 80 and Lucas Wendel posted 86.

The team score was a 43 stroke improvement over last years team total.

Spartans Open Season with a 2nd Place Finish at

Rider Invitational.

The Spartans opened the season with a trip to Waveland Golf Course in Des Moines. The team finished in second place with a score of 314. Jack Roermer led the Spartans with a 76. He was followed by Jack Dumas and Nathan Tillman with 79. Joe Logan rounded out the qualifying scores with an 80. Lucas Wendel and Lucas Wood posted 84 on the hilly track. Host Des Moines Roosevelt won the meet with a team score of 301. Although the boys were disappointed in their team total, some great things were learned and will be valuable moving forward in future competitions.

Spartans finish 3rd at Grayhound Invite.

The Spartans finished third of eleven teams at Flint Hills Golf Course on September 18th. The tricky layout was a first time for four of the six golfers and provided a challenge to negotiate. Jack Dumas led the team with 77 and Jack Roemer followed closely with 78. Other scores were Eric Thompson with 86, Lucas Wendel with 88, Joe Logan with 90 and John Logan with 92. The Spartans return to action on September 22nd and 23rd at Kewaunee Dunes Golf Course and the MAC Championship.

Pleasant Valley wins home Quad with 147!!!!!

The Pleasant Valley Boys Varsity Golf Team raced to an 11 shot victory over the North Scott Lancers, Western Dubuque and Iowa City Liberty. The Spartans were led by Jack Roemer and Lucas Wendel with one under 35, Jack Dumas with 38 and John Logan with 39. Joe Logan followed with 40 and Eric Thompson fired a 42. The 147 total was just 3 over par on the tough Palmer Hills front 9.
