Spartans Capture 3rd Straight District Title!
The lady Spartans capture the Region Tournament and qualified as Champions for the 2023 State 4A Golf Championship to be held at Otter Creek Golf Club in Ankeny, IA next week. Senior Maura Peters captured medalist with an outstanding round of 69 at Pleasant Valley Golf Course. Junior Izzy Steele followed with a season low 74 for district runner-up. Freshman Camille Wood scored her low round of the year with 86 and Anna Weinberger had 87 for a team score of 316, Eliana Danielson (88) and Halima Wood (98) rounded out the scoring for the Spartans. The girls take a 82-1 record into the state tournament.
SPARTANS CLOSE REGULAR SEASON WITH 2 DUAL VICTORIES
The girls wrapped up the regular portion of the schedule with a win over C. DeWitt at Springbrook and a victory over Bettendorf at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City. The course will also be hosting the f10 team regional on Wednesday May 17th, where the Spartans will be competing for their 4th consecutive trip to the State Tournament and their 3rd consecutive regional title. The girls regular season record stands at 73-1. The team 323 score was posted with Maura Peters firing another tremendous round of 72. Junior Izzy Steele broke 80 once again with 77 and Anna Weinberger (87) and Eliana Danielson (87) compiled the team score. Freshman Camille Wood (97) and Halima Talbi (103) also competed.
3RD STRAIGHT MAC TITLE FOR THE SPARTANS!
Led by senior Maura Peters medalist round of 77 and sophomore Anna Weinberger's season low of 80 allowed the Spartans to capture their third consecutive MAC title. Junior Isabella Steele (84) and sophomore Halima Talbi (97) scored the team total of 338. 338 was good for a 12 shot victory over runner-up North Scott. Freshman Camille Wood (98) rounded out the scoring. Sophomore Eliana Danielson was forced to withdraw due to illness. The Spartans will compete on Thursday at Springbrook vs Central DeWitt. Peters, Weinberger and Steele all made the All - Conference 1st Team. Camille Wood and Halima Talbi were Honorable Mention.
SPARTANS WIN QUAD AND OTTUMWA INVITE!
The Lady Spartans completed another sweep this week with a win at Springbrook in DeWitt against Central DeWitt, Clinton and North Scott. The Spartans fired `169 and was led by Maura Peters with 38 as the meet medalist. Izzy Steele (42), Eliana Danielson (45), and Anna Weinberger (44) compiled the team score. Freshman Camille Wood (52) and Grace Hajduk (53) rounded out the scoring.
Thursday took the Spartans to the Ottumwa CC in Ottumwa. The Spartans captured the team title with a score of 332 and was led by medalist Maura Peters with 74 over the challenging layout. Izzy Steele (82), Eliana Danielson (88) and Anna Weinberger (88) completed the team socre. Freshman Camille Wood had her low round of the season with a great (89) and Halima Talbi had 100.
Next on the schedule is the 2023 MAC Women's Golf Championship on Monday May 8th at Midland Golf Club in Kewanee, IL. The Spartans have won back to back titles and will be going for three in a row!
LADY SPARTANS FINISH FIRST AT LINNMAR INVITE - HUNTERS RIDGE - 334
The girls finished off a busy week with a team score of 334 over the Hunters Ridge Golf Course. Senior captain Maura Peters fired a (71) MEDALIST ROUND over the Par 72 layout to lead the team. Eliana Danielson and Izzy Steele came in with 83's and Anna Weinberger had 97 for a team score of 334 . Camille Wood (99) and Josie Harn (127) rounded out the Spartans scoring. Halima Talbi (97) competed as an individual The girls return to action on May 2nd at Springbrook.
SPARTANS FINISH 2ND AT WESTERN DUBUQUE INVITE! - 334 TEAM SCORE
The lady Spartans finished 2nd at the Western Dubuque Invite over the challenging Thunder Hills C.C. The greens presented challenging putting for the girls but they battled to a team score of 334. Maura Peters led the girls with 75 and Izzy Steele was close behind with 76. Eliana Danielson had 89 and Anna Weinberger fired a 94 for the team score. Senior Josie Harn had 101 and freshman Camille Wood had 105. The girls will be playing at the Linn Mar Invite at Marion's Hunter Ridge on Tuesday. The girls sit at 40-1 for the season.
GIRLS WIN 2ND STRAIGHT INVITE AT GLYNNS CREEK!
Maura Peters continued her fine play with a medalist round of 72 to lead the Spartans to their 2nd consecutive Invite Title at Glynns Creek on a breezy day. Junior Izzy Steele (79), Eliana Danielson (84) and Anna Weinberger(90) gave the girls a 325 team score and a 21 shot victory in the 16 team field. Freshman Camille Wood (94) and Halima Talbi (104) rounded out the scoring. Senior Josie Harn (101) played as an individual. The lady linksters will head to Thunder Hills for the Western Dubuque Invite on Monday April 24th and to Hunters Ridge at Marion on Tuesday the 25th.
SPARTANS CAPTURE FALCON INVITATIONAL AT EMEIS
Led by senior Maura Peters medalit round of 72 and Isabella Steele with 74 the girls captured their first Invite title of the year. Sophomore Anna Weinberger fired 90 and Eliana Danielson scored 93 to give the team a fine score of 329. Freshman Camille Wood had 96 in just her second 18 hole varsity meet and Josie Harn had 103. The girls head to Glynns Creek on April 20th to compete in the Lancer Invite.
SPARTANS CAPTURE FIRST 3 MEETS OF THE YEAR!
The Spartan Girls Golf Team won the C/Dewitt Quad at Sprigbrook CC in DeWitt on April 4. The girls were led by Eliana Danielson with 40. Maura Peters and Izzy Steel fired 42 and Camille Wood had 52. Anna Weinberger (53) and Abigale Kunkel (56) rounded out the scoring.
The girls competed at the North Scott Tri Meet on April 7 at Glynns Creek. Senior Maura Peters led with a (-2) 34 followed by Izzy Steele (39), Eliana Danielson (40) and Anna Weinberger with (42). Frosh girls Camille Wood (51) and Abigale Kunkel (56) rounded out the scoring over the Lancers and the Clinton River Queens.
Geneva CC in Muscatine hosted the Spartans on a beautiful April 13th with Muscatine, Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Bettendorf serving as the competition. The girls fired 337 to capture first place. Maura Peters led the attack with 75 and was followed by Izzy Steele with 79. Sophomores Anna Weinberger (91) and Eliana Danielson (92) scored for the Spartans. Camille Wood (101) and senior Josie Harn in her first varsity meet had 103. The girls return next week on Wednesday April 19th at the West Invite at Emeis and on Thursday at North Scott Invite.

Spartans Finish Season Fifth at 2022 State Tournament
The Pleasant Valley Spartans closed out another successful season with a fifth place finish at the State Tournament in Cedar Rapids over the weekend. The boys battled quick greens and cool conditions over the trick 6500 Par 70 layout of Elmcrest C.C. Sam Johnson closed out a great high school career with 75-75 (150) and a 12th place finish overall. The team score was filled in with Jack Blackwell (156), Connor Borbeck (157), Andrew Tillman (160), Owen Wright (161) and Ethan Bloome (161). The team ended with a 117-14 overall record and continued a six year run as MAC Champions and a five year run as District Champions. Senior Captain Sam Johnson, Connor Borbeck and Oskar Barudin all will be missed.
Sam Johnson captured medalist honors with a (-1) 71 over Glynns Creek to lead the Spartans to their 5th straight District Title. Sophomore Ethan Blomme continued his fine season with an ever par round of 72. He was closely followed by Owen Wright (74) and Andrew Tillman with 76. The 293 team score was the lowest district team score in school history. Jack Blackwell (80) and Connor Borbek (83) rounded out the scoring. The boys will head to the state tourney at Elmcrest C.C. in Cedar Rapids on October 7th and 8th.
SPARTANS RETAIN THE MUSKIE CUP FOR SIXTH YEAR IN A ROW!
All 6 Four Ball Matches were won by the Spartan Team at Geneva CC in Muscatine, IA. Teams included: Sam Johnson/Grant Sherrick, Ethan Blomme/Jack Reiter, Connor Borbeck/Ben Livingston, Andrew Tillman/Calvin Short, Owen Wright/John Docherty, Jack Blackwell/Jake Perkins. Special thanks to Geneva CC and Muscatine High for hosting such a fun event for the boys to wrap up their regular season!. District meet will be on Monday October 3rd at Glynns Creek in Eldridge, IA.
The Pleasant Valley Spartans boys golf team captured their 6th conference championship over Midland Golf Club in Kewanee, IL. Senior Sam Johnson captured the individual medalist with a (-5) 139 for the lowest score in Spartan history at the MAC championship. Sophomore Ethan Blomme continue his fine play with a fine score of 148, Owen Wright 148, Connor Borbeck 156, Jack Blackwell 156 and Andrew Tillman 160. The team score of 588 included rounds of 298 in day one and 290 in day two. The Spartans have captured 6 straight meet championships and will head to Geneva CC on Tuesday to compete in the Muskie Cup with 12 team members.
SPARTANS WIN 4TH INVITE WITH 287 AT METAMORA FIELDS
The Pleasant Valley Spartans Golf Team fired one the lowest rounds in school history at Metamora Fields in winning the 18 team tournament at the beautiful Metamora Fields Golf Club. All six players were in the 70's led by sophomore Andrew Tillman's medalist round of 71. Andrew was closely followed by Sam Johnson, Ethan Blomme and Connor Borbeck who all had 72. Jack Blackwell (75) and Owen Wright (77) rounded out the great day of scoring for the Spartans.
SPARTANS WIN THRID INVITE IN A ROW - CLINTON INVITE CHAMPIONS - 302
Ethan Blomme fired his Spartan career low round of 71 to earn medalist honors over the Valley Oaks layout. Fellow sophomore Andrew Tillman played another solid round of 74 to go with Connor Borbeck (78) and Jack Blackwell (79) to give the Spartans the win with a fine 302 score. Owen Wright (81) and John Docherty (85) rounded out the scoring for the Spartans. The boys stand at 69-11 and will head to the 18 Team Metamora Invite on September 10th. On Thursday September 15th, the Spartans will travel to Burlington Golf Club to take on the Grayhounds.
SPARTANS WIN ASSUMPTION INVITE TO MAKE IT TWO IN A ROW WITH 306 AT EMEIS GOLF
Sam Johnson and Owen Wright played the tough Emeis layout at 2 over 74 to lead the Spartans to their second consecutive invite win. Connor Borbeck (78) and Andrew Tillman (80) combined with the two 74's to fire a team 306 team total. John Docherty (82) and Jake Perkins (86) rounded out the scoring. The Spartans will return to action on September 8th at Valley Oaks in the Clinton Invite. The Spartans currently stand at 62-11 overall.
SPARTANS WIN FIRST INVITE OF SEASON AT THUNDER HILLS WITH 293!
Led by senior Sam Johnson's medalist round of -1(70) the Spartans rang up their first tourney invite win of the year with a season low of 293 at the Western Dubuque Invite. The Spartans posted 73 by sophomore Ethan Blomme, 74 by senior Connor Borbeck and 76 by sophomore Andrew Tillman. John Docherty playing in his first meet of the season at the varsity level posted 79 and Owen Wright came in with 80. The boys return to action on August 31st at the Assumption Invite. The Spartans currently stand with a 52-11 overall record.
SPARTANS SCORE LOW ROUND OF YEAR AT LANCER INVITE - 299
The Spartans returned to the links on Wednesday August 17 and posted the low team score of the year with 299. The team fell 2 strokes off the win but played extremely solid and placed 2nd in the 13 team field. Sophomore Andrew Tillman posted a career low 73 in a high school meet followed closely by Sam Johnson (74), Owen Wright (75) and Ethan Blomme (77). Connor Borbeck (78) and Jake Perkins (80) rounded out the scoring for the Spartans. The boys bounce back tomorrow with a trip to the CR Washington Invite and Eagle Ridge South.

The Spartan Boys returned to action and fired 300 to finish 2nd over the beautiful and challenging layout at Blue Top Ridge. Junior Owen Wright scored career low one under 71 to lead the attack. Senior Sam Johnson and junior Jake Perkins had 76 and sophomore Andrew Tillman scored 77. Sophomore Ethan Blomme (81) and senior Connor (88) rounded out the scoring. The Spartans return to action on Wednesday at the North Scott Invite and the 14 team field.
SPARTANS OPEN SEASON WITH 2ND PLACE MUSKIE INVITE FINISH
Sophomore Ethan Blomme fired 76 to lead the Spartans to a 2nd Place finish in the 14 team Muskie Invite held at Geneva C.C. The boys battled heavy rain in the middle of the round to score 313 over the challenging layout. Senior Sam Johnson (77) and sophomores Andrew Tillan (80) and Jack Blackwell (80) scored for the team. Owen Wright (82) and Connor Borbeck (84) rounded out the scoring. The boys bounce back on Monday at Blue Top Ridge for the IC West Invite along with trips to the North Scott Invite and CR Washington Invite later in the week.

GIRLS FINISH RECORD BREAKING SEASON 94-1
SPARTANS FINISH 2ND AT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Pleasant Valley Girls finished a historic season one step short of the state championship. The girls battled to a 656 score over 36 holes. The Spartans were tied after Round 1 but Day 2 just wasn't their day. That is the game of golf. Maura Peters led the Spartan attack with a 4th place finish at 154 followed closely by senior Erika Holmberg who finished an outstanding career with 157 and a 10th place finish. Senior Lizzie McVey played in her last meet of a solid four year varsity career with 168. Sophomore Isabella Steele finished with 177. Seniors Lily Dumas (195) and Jillian Keppy (227) finished out their Spartan career at Otter Creek. Very proud of all the girls and the way they competed to the end and how hard they worked in the off season to achieve so much success.
SPARTANS WIN GLYNNS CREEK REGIONAL-318
Maura Peters (73) and Erika Holmberg (75) led a team score of 318 at Glynns Creek on Wednesday May 18th. Senior Lizzie McVey (84) and sophomore Izzy Steele (86) rounded of the team score. Seniors Lily Dumas (92) and Jillian Keppy (96) finished scoring for the girls. The girls advance to the 2022 IGHSAU State 4A Golf Tournament at Otter Creek in Ankeny, Iowa next week. It will be the third consecutive trip to the State Championship and the second consecutive Regional Championship for the girls. Current record is 84-0.
SPARTANS WIN OTTUMWA INVITATIONAL
The girls returned to the links after battling 40 mph winds to find Ottumwa CC with 105 degree heat index temperatures. Maura Peters led the fine effort with 82 as meet medalist. Lizzie McVey and Erika Holmberg were close behind with 84 and 86. Sophomore Isabella Steele continued her breakout season with 89 to give the Spartans a team score of 340 and a large victory over 8 teams. Lily Dumas (95) and Jillian Keppy (108) rounded out the scoring. Next up is a nine hole quad at Geneva CC on May 12th.
SPARTANS WIN 2ND CONSECUTIVE MAC CHAMPIONSHIP - 341
High winds gusting over 40 MPH gave all golfers everything they could handle at Midland Golf Club for the 2022 MAC Championship. Maura Peters fired 83 to lead the girls followed closely behind by Lizzie McVey(84), Izzy Steele (86) and Erika Holmberg with (88). Spartans Win 3 Invites in One Week:
The girls completed a sweep this week with three wins at the Linn Mar Invite, Falcon Invite and the Valley Invite. Hunters Ridge provided cold and windy conditions that tested the Spartans. The team posted a solid 331 team score that earned a 14 shot victory in the 15 team field. The busy week continued at Emeis where the Spartans fired 325 to earn the Falcon Invite Title. The last event was the Valley Invitational at Willow Creek where the girls captured the title with a great score of 313 in cold, wet and windy conditions. The Spartans currently sit 53-0 over the first six competitions. Springbrook Quad and the Ottumwa Invite are on the docket for the girls next week.
Spartans Win Lancer Invite with 318 Team Score
The Pleasant Valley Girls Golf Team Won their first eighteen hole invite at Glynns Creek Golf Course with a great score of 318. Junior Maura Peters led the attack with 74 and Erika Holmberg was right behind with 76. Senior Lizzy McVey (83) and sophomore Izzy Steele (85) rounded out the team score. Seniors Jillian Keppy (95) and Lily Dumas (96) also competed. The girls will look to a very busy schedule next week with invites at Western Dubuque, Linn Mar and Emeis.
SPARTANS OPEN SEASON WITH TWO MEET VICTORIES AND SET NEW RECORD NINE HOLE SCORE
The Pleasant Valley Spartan Girls Golf Team opened 2022 with two wins at Valley Oaks and at Duck Creek. The Spartans fired 163 at Valley to defeat Clinton and North Scott on a cool windy day. Returning Seniors Erika Holmberg (37) and Lizzy Mcvey (38) led the team with two outstanding scores. After a cold and rainy week with rainouts, the Spartans returned to action at Duck Creek in a Quad with Central, DeWitt and Muscatine. Erika Holmberg set the tone with a fine round of 36 to help set a school low nine hole score of 152. Maura Peters fired 38, Izzy Steele (39), Lily Dumas (39). Anna Weinbeger, playing in her first varsity competition had 41 and senior Jillian Keppy had a career low 46. The Spartans return to the links on Thursday at the 15 team Lancer Invite at Glynns Creek.

Spartans Roll to Win at 18 Team Metamora Invite
The Pleasant Valley Boys Golf Team bounced back from the worst score in 5 years to their best team score of the year with 300 at the beautiful Metamora Fields Golf Club. The Spartans all scored in the 70's and won the event with a team score of 300. Jack Kilstrom was medalist for the first time with 73 and along with Nathan Tillman (74), Connor Borbeck (76), Sam Johnson (77), Owen Wright (78), and Ethan Blomme (79) won the 18 team event. The team will head to Burlington Golf Club to face a strong Burlilngton and Macomb team on 9/15 where the district meet will be hosted on October 5.
Spartans Finish 3rd at Clinton Invite 323
Nathan Tillman finished 2nd overall in individual competition and led the PV golfers to a 3rd place finish at 323 over the Valley Oaks layout. Jack Kilstrom followed with 80. Connor Borbeck had 84 playing in his first varsity competion and Owen Wright had 85 to round out team scoring. Sam Johnson (86) and Ethan Blomme (88) completed Spartan scoring. The men return to action on 9/11 at the 18 team Metamora Invite in Peoria, IL with 17 other competing teams.
Spartans Win Assumption Invitational at Emeis 304 (1st of 11 Teams)
The Spartans were back on the links at Emeis Golf Course and fired a fine 304 over the long Emeis layout. The first time this season, four Spartans were in the 70's. Senior Nathan Tillman led with 75, Sam Johnson 76, Freshman Ethan Blomme 76 and Junior Jack Kilstrom rounded out the team score with 77. Owen Wright and Tarun Annavajulla had 84 over the Par 72 layout on a great day for golf. The Spartans return to the links next week at the Clinton Invite on Thursday September 9th at Valley Oaks and again on Saturday at the 18 Team Metamora Invite in Metamora, IL.

Spartans Finish 6th of 18 at CR Washington Invite - Cedar Rapids Country Club
The Spartans took on the state's best at Cedar Rapids CC and finished 6th of 18 over the 6900 yard championship layout. A long round of golf in high heat on a tough course gave the Spartans a look at what they need to do to compete with the top teams in the State. Sam Johnson led the attack with 75 and Nathan Tillman followed up with 77. Ethan Blomme had another solid round with 82 and Jack Kilstrom had 85.
Spartans Finish 2nd at IC West Invite
Blue Top Ridge was more than challenging for the Spartans as they fired a second place 318 score. Senior Nathan Tillman was meet medalist with a one over par 73. Sam Johnson complete another excellent round with 74 to finish 2nd overall in the event. Senior Tarun Annavajulla posted 83 and senior Mitchell Wood (88), Jack Kilstrom (88) and first time varsity competitor sophomore Jake Perkins had (88) to round out the scoring. Johnston was the meet winner. The Spartans return to the links at Glynns Creek on Wednesday and then to Cedar Rapids CC on Thursday for the CR Washinton Warrior Invite. The Spartans stand at 20 -1 after two meets.

The Spartan Girls Golf team punched their way to the 2021 IGHSAU State Girls Golf Championship with a 18 stroke victory and a winning score of 335 at Brown Deer in Coralville, IA. Erika Holmberg led the attack with a 77 and a 4th place individual finish. Maura Peters followed with 79 and a 6th place finish. Junior Lizzie McVey had 86 and freshman Izzie Steele came in with 93 for the team score. Junior Lily Dumas fired 101 and junior Jillian Keppy had 110. The girls will compete on June 1 and 2 over the Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny, IA.

The Pleasant Valley Spartan Girls Golf Team made history on May 20 at Hidden Hills with an new school nine hole record of 155. The girls were led by Maura Peters (34) -2 . The sophomore had 3 birdies in her round. Junior Erika Holmberg fired 40 along with a career low 40 for freshman Izzie Steele. Lizzie McVey had 41 to round out the team record score. Lily Dumas (53) and Jillian Keppy (57) were other scores posted for the Spartans. Next up for the girls is the IGHSAU District at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville, IA. May 24th 9:30 AM
Junior Erika Holmberg (2nd) led the girls to victory with a great round of 78 in tough conditions over the challenging Kewanee Dunes layout. Maura Peters followed with and outstanding round of 79 along with Lizzie McVey (89) and Izzie Steele (99) to post a team score of 345 and a 13 shot win over 2nd place Bettendorf. Lily Dumas (112) and Jillian Keppy (127) rounded out the scoring. The Spartans now sit at 62-1 for the season and will be heading into Regional Competition at Brown Deer on May 24th. Two nine hole meets are scheduled prior to the Regionals.

The Spartan girls played Glynns Creek on a blustery day with gusts up to 30mph. A trio of Maura Peters, Erika Holmberg and Lizzie McVey posted 42's to go with a career low 44 by Lily Dumas to lead the girls to a victory. Izzie Steele (47) and Jillian Keppy (51) rounded out the scoring. Next up for the team is the 2021 MAC Golf Championship at Kewaunee Dunes on Monday May 10 for a 9:00 AM shotgun.
Spartans Win Quad at Springbrook
The tough Springbrook CC gave all four teams plenty of a challenge on 5/4/21. The Spartans shot 180 and were led by Erika Holmberg and Maura Peters with 43's. Lizzie McVey had 46 and Lily Dumas shot her career low 48. Freshman Izzie Steele also shot 48 and Jillian Keppy rounded scoring out with a 60.

Fast and dry conditions along with slippery greens at Hunters Ridge presented tough conditions. The girls finished 2nd of 14 Teams with a score of 350. Sophomore Maura Peters fired a career low 76 to lead the Spartan attack! Erika Holmberg (80), Lizzie McVey (90), and Lily Dumas (104) rounded out team scoring. Senior Roshni Patel scored 111 and freshman Izzie Steele had 112 to round out the scoring. After 4 invites in 6 days, the next meet is on May 4 at Springbrook in DeWitt.

Lead by Erika Holmberg's 82 the Spartans won the invite with a team total of 342. Lizzie McVey and Maura Peters followed with 83. Freshman Izzie Steele continued to improve with 94 to round out team scoring. Lily Dumas fired 102 and Ceely Patramanis had 103. The girls head to Hunters Ridge on 4/27 for the Linn Mar Invite.

Erika Holmberg continued her fine play with a round of 79 to lead the Spartans to a 25 shot victory at Glynns Creek on April 22. Sophomore Maura Peters followed close behind with 80 to pace the lady golfers. Lizzie McVey (88) and Izzie Steele (94) gave the team a total of 341. Junior Lily Dumas continued to improve with 104 and senior Roshni Patel add 120 on a cool but sunny day.
SPARTANS WIN FALCON INVITATIONAL
Erika Holmberg led the Spartans with 81 and a team 347 score in the 10 team Falcon Invitational at Emeis Golf Course on a cold blustery day. Lizzie McVey followed with 84, Maura Peters 88, Izzie Steele shot a season low 94. Lily Dumas also shot a season low 104 and Roshni Patel followed with 105.
SPARTANS SWEEP MEETS THIS WEEK!
The Lady Spartan Golf Team swept two meets this week. On Monday, the girls defeated Clinton and North Scott at a very wet Valley Oaks Golf Course. Erika Holmberg, Lizzie McVey and Maura Peters all shot 41 over the tough layout. Freshman Izzie Steele came in with a fine score of 50. Lily Dumas (56) and Jillian Keppy playing in her first ever varsity meet followed up with a (63).

The Pleasant Valley Spartans opened the 2021 girls golf season with a SCHOOL RECORD round of 163 over the Duck Creek Golf Course in Davenport, IA. The girls weather 50 degree temperature and rainy conditions. Captain Erika Holmberg led the team with a even par round of 36. Fellow junior Lizzie McVey fired a 38. The Spartans had 3 first time varsity competitors on Thursday. Sophomore Maura Peters shot a 39, freshman Isabella Steele had 50 and junior Lily Dumas scored 52. Senior Ceely Patramanis shot a round of 54 to round out the scoring.

SPARTANS FINISH 2ND AT STATE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP
The Pleasant Valley Spartans Golf Team finished their historic season with a 2nd Place finish at the Des Moines Golf and Country Club North Course. The 621 total earned the runner up spot in the 12 team field. Jack Dumas fired 78-73 151 for a fifth place tie and All State recognition. Nathan Tillman followed with 154, Jack Roemer 155, John Molyneaux 163, Sam Johnson 167 and Jack Kilstrom 171 The Spartans finished the season with a 105-2 record. Dumas, Roemer and Molyneaux all played in their final Spartan match and will be greatly missed along with fellow senior McKinley Elg.
Jack Dumas led the Spartans with 77 to their 3rd Consecutive District Championship on a brutally windy day at Glynns Creek Golf Course. Nathan Tillman followed with 78, Sam Johnson (79), Jack Roemer (82). The team's 316 total was good for a five shot victory. John Molyneaux (90) and Jack Kilstrom (91) rounded out the scoring. The team will compete for the 4A title at Des Moines Golf and Country Club on October 9th and 10th.

Spartans Keep the Cup
The Spartans Golf Team retained the Muskie Cup for another season on October 2nd at Geneva C. C. in Muscatine. The Spartans won the match 78.5.29.5 over the Muscatine Muskies. Teams consisted of Jack Dumas/McKinley Elg, Jack Roemer/Matt Vanderschaaf, Nathan Tillman/Owen Wright, John Molyneaux/Connor Borbeck, Jack Kilstrom/Alex Blackwell and Sam Johnson/Tarun Annavajjula. The Junior Varsity Team closed its season out on a sun filled day on a great golf course. The varsity heads into post season with the District Meet at Glynns Creek on Monday October 5th.
Dumas Lead Spartans to Sabre Invite Title!
Jack Dumas fired a -3 under 67 to lead the Spartans to Sabre Invitational Title at Springbrook C.C. in DeWitt, IA. Jack Roemer fired 72 over the challenging layout along with sophomore Sam Johnson had a season low 74. Nathan Tillman rounded out the team scoring with a 77. Jack Kilstrom (78) and John Molyneaux (87) completed the scoring for the Spartans. The next meet for the Spartans is the MAC Conference Tourney at Valley Oaks in Clinton on Friday September 25th. 9 AM Shotgun Start.

Senior Jack Roemer led the Spartans to a 315 Team Total along with the meet medalist honor with a score of Even Par 72. Junior Nathan Tillman continued his fine play with a 78. Sophomore Sam Johnson (82) and senior Jack Dumas (83) rounded out the scoring. Sophomore Jack Kilstrom (83) and senior John Molyneaux (88) rounded out the scoring over the the tough Valley Oaks layout. Spartans Win Palmer Hills Quad
Jack Dumas (69) led the Spartans to a 290 Team Score and a victory over Burlington (325) Bettendorf (338) and North Scott (339). Nathan Spear of Burlington fired a -6 (65) to take medalist honors. Jack Roemer followed with a -1 (70). Nathan Tillman (74), Jack Kilstrom (77) rounded out team scores. Sam Johnson fired 79 and John Molyneaux came in with 82. Mitchell Wood playing as an individual fired a season low 76. Other individual scores for the Spartans were Alex Blackwell 80, Tarun Annavajjula 82, McKinley Elg 86 and Connor Borbeck had 91.
Tillman's Medalist Round Leads to Assumption Invitational Win!
Junior Nathan Tillman has played well over his 3 years on the Spartan Varsity Golf Team. But on Wednesday he finally was able to beat the 2 Jack's and nab an invitaional medalist honor with a -1 under par 71 over the 6500 yard Emeis Golf Course in Davenport. The Spartans continued their strong play with a team total of 294. Jack Dumas (72) and Jack Roemer (73) continued their all state level play. John Molyneaux, Sam Johnson and Jack Kilstrom all broke in with 78's. The Spartans return on September 10 at Valley Oaks for the Clinton Invite. Valley Oaks will also host the one round MAC Championship on September 25th.
Dumas' School Record 65 Leads Spartans
Senior Jack Dumas posted a -6 under 65 at Palmer Hills to lead the PV attack to a 288 - 352 victory against Muscatine. Fellow senior Jack Roemer posted another fine round of 72. Junior Nathan Tillman (75) and sophomore Jack Kilstrom posted a season low of (76) for the season low total of 288. John Molyneaux (82) and Sam Johnson (85) rounded out the Spartans scoreboard. The Spartans will return to the links on Wednesday Septembers 2nd at Emeis Golf in Davenport for the Assumption Knight Invite.
Spartans Win Western Dubuque Invite!
The Spartans competed in the 11 team Western Dubuque Invitational on Monday August 24th at the beautiful Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta, IA. Another sub 300 score of 295 was posted by the Spartans. Led by senior Jack Roemer's medalist round of 69 and Nathan Tillman's second place round of 72, the Spartans continued their sub 300 meet scores. Senior Jack Dumas (74) and John Molyneaux (80) were the other two team scores used. Sophomores Sam Johnson (84) and Jack Kilstrom (84) rounded out the scoring. The Spartan JV team also competed and posted 330. Alex Blackwell (80) , McKinley Elg (81) , Owen Wright (82) and Mitchell Wood (87) scored for the Spartans.
SPARTANS WIN LANCER INVITE WITH 294
The Spartans fired the low round of the season so far with a 6 over par team total at the tough Glynns Creek Golf Course. Jack Dumas led with an even par 72. Dumas was followed closely by fellow junior Nathan Tillman with 73. Jack Roemer, playing in his first meet of the season came in with 74. Sam Johnson rounded out the scoring with his varsity low round of 75. John Molyneaux continued his solid play with 78 and Mitchell Wood scored 83. The Spartans will return to the links next Monday August 24th at Thunder Hills C.C. in Peosta, IA.
Spartans Finish 2nd at Blue Top Ridge
The Spartan Golf Team finished 2nd in the 11 Team Iowa City West Invitational at Blue Top Ridge. Senior Jack Dumas fired a 3 under par 69 to earn medalist honors. The 314 team total finished 3 strokes back of Johnston at 311. Senior John Molyneaux scored a fine 77 for his lowest varsity round. Junior Nathan Tillman followed with 81 over the 6450 yard Par 72 layout. Sophomore Sam Johnson followed with 86 to round out the team total. Juniors Mitchell Wood (90) and Tarun Annavajjula(96) rounded out the team's scoring. Pleasant Valley returns on Wednesday August 19th to compete at the North Scott Invitational over the Glynns Creek Golf Course in Scott County Park.

Spartans Open Season with Muskie Invite Win!
Senior Jack Dumas led the Spartans with a medalist round of 72 at Geneva C.C. to win the 13 Team Muskie Invite. Junior Nathan Tillman followed with 78. Three newcomers to the varsity lineup included Tarun Annavajjula (81), Sam Johnson (85) and John Molyneaux (89). Junior Mitchell Wood posted 86 to help the Spartans to a 18 shot victory with a 316 score on a beautiful day for golf. The Spartans return to the links on Monday August 17th at the Iowa City West Invitational. Beautiful Blue Top Golf Course at Riverside Resort is the host course. Shotgun start at 9:00 AM.

2020 Team Qualifying is set for August 10 & 11 at Palmer Hills Golf Course/Hidden Hills Golf Course
2020 Team Qualifying will be held over 2 days and 36 holes of competition for low 24 qualifying scores on Monday (weather permitting). Cut after 18 for those who do not finish in the top 24 on Monday. All juniors and seniors will play 36 holes at Palmer Hills regardless as they are not eligible for the our developmental Gray Team. Competition will be reduced if Monday's round is rained out. Freshman and sophomores who do not finish in top 24 Monday will play (9 Holes) on Tuesday at Hidden Hills to continue qualifying for the Gray Team. Top 15 will make up the varsity and junior varsity squads. Gray Team is for freshman and sophomores only. 8 players will make up the Gray Team. Qualifying Information will be sent out via email on Saturday August 8th with assigned tee times, pairings and rules sheet for competition. Monday's Tee Times (6:42 - 7:46).Tuesday's times will begin at 6:42 at Palmer and 7:30 for those playing at Hidden Hills.

The Pleasant Valley Spartans finished tied for 3rd at the 2019 State Boys 4A Golf Tournament at the Tournament Club of Iowa. Jack Roemer finished (tie) 2nd and Jack Dumas finished 5th. Here is the Final Results link for the State Tournament.The Spartans finished the season with a record of 100-3-1. Jack Dumas and Jack Roemer earned All State and All Tournament First Team. Senior Lucas Wood played his last match for the Spartans leaving six of the top seven players returning next season.

2019 4A State Golf Championship
The Pleasant Valley Boys Golf Team topped the 14 team District Meet at Glynns Creek on October 7th. Jack Dumas was tourney medalist with 73. Jack Roemer (76), Nathan Tillman (76), and Alex Blackwell had (79) to round out the team 304 score. Lucas Wood had 81 and Mitchell Wood scored 96. The Spartans will travel to Polk City, IA on October 11 and 12 for the 2019 State 4A Golf Championship at Tournament Club of Iowa.
Spartans Win 3rd Straight MAC Title!
The Pleasant Valley Spartans won their 3rd straight MAC title with a team score of 298. Jack Dumas was the tournament medalist with a three under par 69. Jack Roemer was close behind with 73 and finished 2nd in the tournament. Nathan Tillman fired a season best 75 and senior Lucas Wood rounded out the team scoring with 81. Mitchell Wood scored 86 and Alex Blackwell had 89 for the team. The Spartans will now turn to District Play on Monday October 7th at Glynns Creek Golf Course. The low three team will advance to the State 4A Tournament at TC of Iowa on October 11th and 12th.
The Pleasant Valley boys were able to retain the cup for the third straight season with a 32 - 16 victory in the rain shortened event at Geneva C.C. in Muscatine. All six team of 2 were able to maintain leads over their opponents and brought the Cup back to PV. The golf course served as a warm up for the MAC conference tourney on Friday October 4th and District Play on October 7th. The Spartans currently are 73-1 for the season and hope the next 10 days will bring more success. Pairings for the Cup Match were: Jack Dumas/Harrison Cockrell, Jack Roemer/John Molyneaux, Nathan Tillman/Sam Johnson, Lucas Wood/Ian Wilger, Alex Blackwell/Tarun Annavajulla and Mitchell Wood/Jack Kilstrom.
Spartans Defeat Geneseo in Dual and Clinton/Bettendorf in Tri-Meet
The Spartans fired 152 against a strong Geneseo (IL) at Kewaunee Dunes on -September 24th. Jack Dumas led the Spartans with 36. Senior Lucas Wood had 38 and Nathan Tillaman and Jack Roemer posted 39. Sophomores Alex Blackwell and Mitchell Wood scored 42.
A wet and soggy course at Valley Oaks hosted the Spartans, Bulldogs and River Kings for a Tri-meet. The Spartans won the meet with 312 followed by the Bulldogs (333) and River Kings with (377) Jack Dumas continued his outstanding season with a one over par 73. Closely behind was fellow junior Jack Roemer (74) Lucas Wood (81) and Nathan Tillman (84) scored for the Spartans. Alex Blackwell (88) and Mitchell Wood rounded out the scoring with (92). The Spartans will play a one round MAC Championship on Friday October 4th after the original two rounds were postponed due to rain and wet conditions.

Led by Jack Roemer's 73 and Jack Dumas' 75 allowed the Spartans to capture their 6th Invitational win of the season at Valley Oaks Golf Course at the Clinton River King Invite. The 312 team score was aided by Alex Blackwell and Nathan Tillman with 81 and 83. Sophomore Mitchell Wood fired 87 and Jack Kilstrom came in with 97. The Spartans have ten days to prepare for a dual match vs. Geneseo on September 23rd. Kewaunee Dunes is match site and is also the site for the 2019 MAC Championship on September 27 and 28.

Led by Jack Roemer's 74 and Jack Dumas' 76 allowed the Spartans to capture their 5th Invitational win of the season at Emeis Golf Course at the Assumption Invite. The 309 team score was aided by Lucas Wood and Nathan Tillman with 79 and 80. Sophomore Mitchell Wood fired 84 and Jack Kilstrom came in with 87. The Spartans have a week to prepare for the Clinton Invite at Valley Oaks on September 12th. Valley Oaks is also the site for the 2019 District Tournament on October 7th. Shotgun start on the 12th is now at 9:30 AM.

The Pleasant Valley Boys Golf Team finished off a busy week by finishing 2nd at the CR Washington Invite held at Elmcrest C.C. in Cedar Rapids. The Spartans fired 304 just 2 shots back of Cedar Falls in the 18 Team Meet. Jack Dumas led the Spartans with 71. Jack Roemer, Nathan Tillman and Lucas Wood posted scores of 76, 78, and 79. Freshman Jack Kilstrom fired 87 and Alex Blackwell posted 90.

The PV Spartans won their second tourney of the young season at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, IA. Jack Roemer posted a 4 under Par 68 to lead the Spartans to a season best 297. Jack Dumas followed with 76, Nathan Tillman 83 and Lucas Wood had 87. Alex Blackwell also shot 87 and Mitchell Wood posted 93 to round out the scoring.
Spartans Open Season Winning Muskie Invitational
Led by Jack Roemer (78) and Jack Dumas (79) the Spartans opened the season by winning the 13 team Muskie Invitational at Geneva Country Club in Muscatine. Nathan Tillman (87) and Alex Blackwell (88) gave the Spartans a team total of 332. Lucas Wood (89) and Mitchell Wood (95) rounded out the scoring. The boys have a busy week at Iowa City on Monday, Glynns Creek on Wednesday and Elmcrest on Thursday next week. The boys will be looking to improve on their showing regardless of winning their
first event of the season.
Spartans Earn QC Times All Area Recognition
Jack Dumas, Jack Roemer, Erika Holmberg, Elizabeth McVey, Lucas Wendel, Joe Logan, Nathan Tillman and Lucas Wood all earned recognition at various levels on the QC Times All Area Golf Team. SUMMER CAMPS IN FULL SWING
46 current and future Spartans are working on all aspects of their game in our spring/summer golf camps being held at our Hidden Hills Practice Facility. Boys and Girls Teams along with 21 junior high players are fine tuning their short game and working on fundamental swing changes to improve their overall game. Camps run through out July and up to August 5th for high school boys who will have tryouts on Monday August 12th. Many players are playing in various competitions in the area and state wide
Spartan Girls Finish 10th at State Golf Championship
The Pleasant Valley completed their season at the 2019 State Golf Championship in Ames, IA. The girls battled soaking wet conditions, sideways rain, sunshine for a few holes and a tough Coldwater Golf Course. The Spartans finished with a team total of 790 and 10th Place overall. The girls finish their season with 54 match wins and 23 defeats.

Spartans Advance to State Championships!
The Pleasant Valley Girls punch their ticket to the 2019 4A State Golf Championships by firing 377 over the wet Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City Monday May 20. Freshman Lizzie McVey led the way with a season low 87 and fellow freshman Erika Holmberg had 88. Alyssa Paulson rebounded from a slow start to finish with 99 and Erin Douglas had 101. Cecilia Patramanis also had 110 and Lauren Groenenboom rounded out the scoring with 118. PV will be competing at Coldwater Links on May 28 and 29 in Ames, IA with 9 other teams. Lizzie and Erika finished in the top six individual spots to punch their individual ticket to the dance also.

Spartans Finish 3rd at Lancer Invite
The Spartan Girls finished 3rd in the 10 team Lancer Invitational Monday at Glynns Creek Golf Course in Long Grove. The Spartan Girls fired an impressive 377 with their seventh lineup change of the season. Erika Holmberg led the girls with 87 and finishing 7th overall. Lizzie McVey followed with a fine round of 91. Sophomore Erin Douglas broke through with 99 for her first sub 100 round in competition. Sophomore Roshni Patel returned from illness to post 100 to help the Spartans. Ingrid Hofmann fired 103 and Lily Dumas had 122 in her first ever varsity meet. The Spartans have played nine different girls at the varsity level competition. Next up on the docket is the final regular season meet at Palmer Hills in Bettendorf vs. the Bulldogs who are currently the 2nd ranked team in the state. Regionals follow on Monday May 20th at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.
Spartan Girls Bounce back after Tough Senior Invite
The Lady Spartans bounced back on a beautiful day for golf at the Maquoketa CC with a winning score of 180 in the tri-meet with Clinton and host Maquoketa. Ingrid Hofmann led the girls with a great round of 41 over the picturesque layout. Erika Hofmann followed with 42, Alyssa Paulson fired 48, Elizabethe McVey rounded out counting scores with 49. Cecilia Patramanis (58) and Erin Douglas (59) rounded out the scoring for the visiting Spartans. The girls return to action on Tuesday May 14 at the Lancer Invitie at Glynns Creek.
Bunker Hill and Elements Provide for Challenging Day
The Spartan Girls faced a tough course and not so nice conditions at the Senior Invite. The Spartans posted at 387 score and finished 5th in the 7 team Senior Invitational at Bunker Hill Golf Course. Erika Holmberg led the Spartans with 85. Lizzie McVey followed with a 99. Erin came ever so close in breaking 100 for the first time in competition. Erin posted 100. Alyssa Paulson followed with 103 and Lauren Groenenboom finished at 109. The Spartans have now used 9 different players in the lineup due to a variety of reasons, mostly fighting illness. Spartans return to action at Maquoketa next week in a triangular with Maquoketa and Clinton and the Maquoketa CC.
Spartans take 2nd in MAC Conference Championship at Kewaunee Dunes
The PV Spartan girls battle the elements and the tough Kewaunee Dunes layout to capture second place at the 2019 MAC Championship. The Spartans were led by 2nd Place overall finisher Erika Homberg who shot an impressive 5 over 77. Joining Erika as all conference was Elizabeth McVey who scored 100 for the team. Other scores were a pair of 106's by Alyssa Paulson and Erin Douglas. Ingrid Hofmann (107) and Cecilia Patramanis (119) rounded out the scoring for the girls.
Spartans Go 1-1 at Brown Deer (Iowa City)
After an almost two week layoff and a team rattled with the flu bug, the Spartans returned to competition in a three team meet at Brown Deere. The Spartans shot 196, good enough for a second place finish. Liberty (186) and North Scott (224) were the competition. Erika Holmberg had a fine 40. Lizzie McVey shot 50, along with a 52 from Alyssa Paulson and 54 from Erin Douglas. Lauren Groenenboom had 61 in her first ever varsity golf meet. Girls Finish 4th in 14 Team LinnMar Field
Spartan Girls posted 353 at Hunters Ridge in Marion, IA. The tough field provided a preview of top rated teams in Iowa. Erika Holmberg led the Spartans with a great round of 78 finishing 4th overall. Lizzie McVey continued her fine play with 89 along with Alyssa Paulson's 91 and Ingrid Hofmann with 95. Erin Douglas fired 117 and Roshni Patel had 121. The Spartans return to action on Monday April 29 at the Burlington Invitational. The Spartans finished just 7 shots out of 2nd place in the strongest field tournament of the year.
Girls Win Quad at Duck Creek
Girls Golf Team wins Quad to go 14-1. The girls fired 169 for their low team score of the year defeating West, North Scott and Central at Duck Creek Golf Course on Thursday April 18th. Cecilia Patramanis and Erika Holmberg fired 41's along with Ingrid Hofmann 42 and Lizzie McVey 45. Alyssa Paulson finished with 49 and Roshni Patel 54. The Spartans will return to action at the LinnMar Invitational on Tuesday April 23rd at Hunters Ridge Golf Course in Marion, IA. 11:00 AM shotgun start.

The Spartan Girls Golf Team finished 2nd in the ten team Falcon Invitational at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport. The Spartans team score of 386 follow champion Bettendorf with 366. Freshman Lizzie McVey led the Spartan attack with a fine round of 92. Fellow frosh Erika Holmberg followed closely behind with 94. Ingrid Hofmann fired 98 and Cecilia Patramanis scored 102 to round out our team score. Sophomores Erin Douglas and Roshni Patel finished with 118 and 119 respectively. The Spartans return to action on Thursday April 18 at Duck Creek in a quad 9 hole meet between North Scott, Central and West.

PV Girls Golf wins second meet in a row. Led by freshman Erika Holmberg with 43 and Lizzie McVey with 50, the Spartans defeated the Muscatine Muskies 204-227 at the Geneva Golf and Country Club. Other scores: Roshni Patel 54 Cecilia Patramanis 57 Erin Douglas 58 Ingrid Hofmann with a 59. The girls next meet is Thursday April 11 at Glynns Creek Golf Course for the North Scott Invitational.

Spartan Girls win opening meet! PV 192 North Scott 236. Clinton 258. Erika Holmberg led the Spartans with a fine round of 41. She was followed by sophomore Ingrid Hofmann with 49, Cecilia Patramanis 51, Lizzie McVey 51, Roshni Patel 57 and Erin Douglas 58! The Spartans team score of low four of six balls was 192. North Scott followed with 236 and Clinton with 258 over the back nine layout at Hidden Hills. The girls will travel to Muscatine on April 9 to take on the Muskies at Geneva Country Club.
Spartan Girls Golf Season in Full Swing
The 2019 girls golf season has been in action since March 18th. 14 young ladies have been working hard to prepare for 12 scheduled varsity competitions and 6 junior varsity events.The weather has cooperated so far with team members being at Hidden Hills 11 of the 13 scheduled practices. On poor weather days, the girls are able to practice in our indoor golf room at the high school. Eight players return from last season and are joined by six freshman. PV Golf Team Members attend Rules of Golf Seminar - Saturday March 23rd
Eleven Pleasant Valley Golf Team Members spent the morning at Davenport C.C. learning about the changes to the Rules of Golf. The Iowa Golf Association held a certified seminar that went over the many changes to the rules this year. Knowing the rules is always to your favor and these young men and women are more prepared because of attending the seminar. We would like to thank Bill Eby of Davenport C.C. and Chad Pitts of the Iowa Golf Association for their fine work. We also thank John Panek, PGA for hosting the event along with the membership of Davenport C.C. It was a very enjoyable learning experience for all.

Spartans finish 4th at the Weibring Invitational to end regular season.
The PV Spartans made the long trek to Normal, IL to compete in the annual Normal U Invitational at Illinois State University. A great field of 16 teams competed on a blustery and cold day with winds reaching 30 mph. Jack Roemer finished third overall with a fantastic 75. Senior Lucas Wendel followed with a solid 79. Jack Dumas fired 81 and Joe Logan finished with 88 to give the team a 323 total that was good for 4th place. Nathan Tillman and Lucas Wood rounded out the scoring with 92 and 93. The boys move on to district play on Monday at Hunters Ridge Golf in Marion, IA. The Spartans finished regular season play with an overall record of 87-5 and captured seven championships during the season.
The boys golf team continue their winning ways by capturing the Muskie Cup on Wendnesday at Geneva C.C. The boy won the 12-man, 6*team event by a score of 76 to 32. The event is a team competition between PV and Muscatine where 6 two person team compete in a Best Ball of 2 event where each hole is worth one point. The fun day was followed by a team gathering at Pizza Ranch where the JV boys rounded out their season. Seniors Cory Labarge and Rian Lamarque finished their PV golf career on a winning note. Two-man teams were Jack Roemer and Harrison Cockrell, Jack Dumas and John Molyneaux, Nathan Tillaman and Mitchell Wood, Lucas Wood and Alex Blackwell, Joe Logan and Rian Lamarque along with Lucas Wendel and Cory Labarge.
Spartans capture 2nd Consecutive MAC Championship
The Pleasant Valley Boys Golf Team captured their second consecutive MAC Golf Championship at Kewaunee Dunes Golf Club. The 36 hole event went right down to the wire as Bettendorf and PV battled it out for the team title. Jack Dumas led the Spartans with a fine two day total of 150 . Jack finished second overall in the individual competition. Senior Lucas Wendel played superbly with rounds of 75 and 77. The 152 finish earned him 3rd place overall in the competition. The Spartans were aided by all conference senior Joe Logan who tallied 162. Nathan Tillman fired a second round 80 that rounded out the scoring on day two and totaled 167 overall. Jack Roemer and Lucas Wood finished with 169 and 170 over the demanding layout. The Spartans have two meets in the coming week. They visit Geneva CC for the Muskie Cup and on Friday they travel to Normal, IL for the U-HIgh Invite that will have some of the best teams competing from the State of Illinois.

Led by sophomore Jack Roemer's 74, the Spartans captured their sixth invitational with a team score of 309 on the long and wet Emeis Golf Course.. Senior Joe Logan fired his best round of the year with a 77. Jack Dumas continued his stellar play with 78 and senior Lucas Wendel added 80. Lucas Wood and Nathan Tillman rounded out the scoring with 87 and 90 respectively. The boys were called off the course with a few holes to play due to lightning, but were able to go and complete their rounds before another round of storms moved into the QC area. The MAC conference meet is next on the docket this Friday and Saturday over the challenging Kewaunee Dunes Golf Club in Kewaunee, IL. The Spartans hope to defend their conference title.
Spartans come up short at TPC Deere Run with strong showing.
The Pleasant Valley boys win streak was stopped at five but not without a fight. The Spartans finished second in the eighteen team field over the tough TPC Deere Run Golf Course. The Spartans were lead by sophomores Jack Dumas and Jack Roemer with 73 and 78 respectively. Lucas Wood, Lucas Wendel and Joe Logan all fired 82 after slow starts but strong finishes. Nathan Tillman rounded out scoring with an 85. The meet was the strongest field of the year and the team now knows they can compete with anyone in the state. Next on the schedule will be the Assumption Invite on Wednesday September 19th after being rained out in August.
River King Invite Win makes it Five Straight for Spartans
Jack Dumas fired a one over par 73 in tough conditions to lead the Spartans to their fifth straight invitational victory. Valley Oaks played long and with rough bordering 5 inches due to the extremely raining fall. Jack Roemer followed Dumas with a 77 and Lucas Wood scored a fine round of 79. Lucas Wendel rounded out the scoring with an 82 but showed signs of breaking out by playing the last 10 holes one over par. Joe Logan and Nathan Tillman finished with 84 and 87 respectively. It had been over two weeks since the team had competed and they won't have to wait long as the boys return to the links this Wednesday at TPC Deere Run for the Cedar Rapids Washington Warrior Invite.
Boys Win Bobcat Invite at Thunder Hills Country Club
Led by sophomore Jack Dumas with a medalist round of 73 and freshman Nathan Tillman posting a 76 over the windy and challenging Thunder Hills layout. After a 45 minute rain delay the Spartans toured the course with a team score of 310 and a 25 shot victory over runner up Bettendorf. Lucas Wood continued his steady play with 80 and Joe Logan posted 81 to round out the qualifying scores. The Spartans will be back on course this Wednesday at the Assumption Invitational at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport. The team currently stands at 40 - 1 for the season, but many challenging events remain on the schedule.
Jack Roemer took home medalist honors with a one over 73 and Jack Dumas was closed behind with 74 to lead the PV golfers to their 3rd Invite championship in as many tries. The sophomore duo were part of a 310 team score that was aided by an 81 from senior Lucas Wendel and 82 by junior Lucas Wood. Joe Logan and Nathan Tillman rounded out the scores with an 83 and 85 respectively. The Spartans will next play on Monday August 27th at Thunder Hills CC in Peosta, IA at the Western Dubuque Invite.
Spartans Make it 2 Tourney Wins in a Row!
Led by Jack Roemer with a medalist round of 73 and runner-up Jack Dumas' 74 the Spartans sailed to an invitational victory in the 11 team Iowa City West Invitational at Blue Top Ridge on Monday August 13. The duo was aided by rounds of 82 by freshman Nathan Tillman and senior Joe Logan. Lucas Wood followed with an 85 and senior Lucas Wendel posted 87. The team total of 311 over the tough 6450 yard layout was victorious by 5 shots over runner-up Johnston. The Spartans will return to action on Monday August 20th at Glynns Creek for the Lancer Invitational. The PV Spartan JV team will also participate in the Lancer Invite.
Spartans Win Muskie Invitational at Geneva C.C.
Jack Dumas won individual honors at the Muskie Invite with a beautiful round of 1 under par on the tough Geneva CC course on Friday August 10th.. He was followed by sophomore Jack Roemer at 75, freshman Nathan Tillman at 76 and junior Lucas Wood posting a fine round of 79 for a team total of 301. The Spartans beat 11 other participating teams in the meet. Senior Joe Logan followed with an 80 and Lucas Wendel posted 86.
The team score was a 43 stroke improvement over last years team total.
Spartans Open Season with a 2nd Place Finish at
Rider Invitational.
The Spartans opened the season with a trip to Waveland Golf Course in Des Moines. The team finished in second place with a score of 314. Jack Roermer led the Spartans with a 76. He was followed by Jack Dumas and Nathan Tillman with 79. Joe Logan rounded out the qualifying scores with an 80. Lucas Wendel and Lucas Wood posted 84 on the hilly track. Host Des Moines Roosevelt won the meet with a team score of 301. Although the boys were disappointed in their team total, some great things were learned and will be valuable moving forward in future competitions.

Grayhound Invite leaves Spartans 3rd
Spartans finish 3rd at Grayhound Invite.
The Spartans finished third of eleven teams at Flint Hills Golf Course on September 18th. The tricky layout was a first time for four of the six golfers and provided a challenge to negotiate. Jack Dumas led the team with 77 and Jack Roemer followed closely with 78. Other scores were Eric Thompson with 86, Lucas Wendel with 88, Joe Logan with 90 and John Logan with 92. The Spartans return to action on September 22nd and 23rd at Kewaunee Dunes Golf Course and the MAC Championship.
Pleasant Valley wins home Quad with 147!!!!!
The Pleasant Valley Boys Varsity Golf Team raced to an 11 shot victory over the North Scott Lancers, Western Dubuque and Iowa City Liberty. The Spartans were led by Jack Roemer and Lucas Wendel with one under 35, Jack Dumas with 38 and John Logan with 39. Joe Logan followed with 40 and Eric Thompson fired a 42. The 147 total was just 3 over par on the tough Palmer Hills front 9.
